The group
has kept me focused on something whilst going through a
bad month as, being involved in the group story, I could
not let everyone down by failing to complete my contribution.’
Group leader Olaf Chedzoy sent an outline to members, who
then worked on separate parts to be united in the group
story. ‘I was amazed at how he has managed to weave
everyone’s character, village features and episodes
that we sketched out for him, together,’ says Sue.
Other exercises she enjoyed working on with the group included
a 300-word story to match the title A Cup of Tea,
which she set on a train and used to incorporate a bit of
a ghost story, and writing two headlines for the same news
story, one for a national tabloid and another for a regional
weekly newspaper.
‘As our year draws sadly to an end I hope we will
continue, with hopefully a few more members, into another
year,’ says Sue. ‘It’s helped keep me
sane!’
